About La Comarca Gastro Park

The ambiance at La Comarca Gastro Park encourages a casual, communal dining experience that is hard to forget. The blend of open-air seating with rustic accents creates a lively yet relaxed environment where family groups and friends gather comfortably. Amid the various dishes, the hearty Costa Rican staples seem to stand out, though some selections hint at ambitious fusion attempts that don’t always hit the mark. While the service maintains a friendly and approachable vibe, occasional lapses in attentiveness suggest room for improvement during peak hours.

Exploring the La Comarca Gastro Park menu reveals a thoughtful range of traditional favorites alongside inventive offerings that aim to surprise the palate. Juicy, marinated meats share space with fresh, locally sourced vegetables and vibrant sauces, crafting a meal that feels grounded in regional flavors yet open to interpretation. Photographs shared by visitors often highlight the colorful presentation and generous portions, reflecting both the restaurant’s commitment to visual appeal and satisfying appetites. However, some dishes may arrive less consistently executed, as noted by various reviews that mention fluctuations in seasoning and temperature.

Reviews reflect a community atmosphere where the value proposition is generally favorable, especially for families seeking a welcoming spot to enjoy a varied menu. Pricing aligns with the portion sizes and the informal setting, creating an accessible dining choice. Though the location in Guapiles places it slightly off the beaten tourist corridors, it remains a notable mention for those interested in exploring Costa Rica’s culinary landscape beyond the usual hotspots. The overall impression of this restaurant integrates enjoyable moments of flavor with the occasional unevenness in delivery, painting a picture of a place with character and potential.

We ate lomito and fish fingers from the restaurant in the back, it was perfect. We also had ceviche from another restaurant and it was also delicious. This is a place to visit again, definitely.

This place was great with live music and plenty of food vendors. If I had a complaint it would be that it is a bit pricey.

Our AirBnB host recommended this place, and it was excellent! We had ceviche and a pineapple-mint smoothie at lunch, but there were so many choices. The setting is in a garden, and the atmosphere is peaceful. It seems popular with locals, which is a good sign. Parking is plentiful in the lot near the restrooms, which were clean. I remember there were a few chickens wandering around for our entertainment.

Several different types of food, all in one place. Everyone in the family can order what they like and eat together in a pleasant outdoor garden. There was Caribbean, seafood, Mexican, Japanese, Italian, and juice available. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

I ended up there by chance. The place I wanted to visit was closed. I walked in there one hour after opening (12 noon). The place is bordered by a crystal clear creek full of fish and a few turtles that are true to the creek's ecosystem not placed there by men. Add exotic flora to that and the place turns into a secret garden. You've got picnic style dining tables all around, approximately 6 food truck style choices ranging from Mexican tacos, Caribbean seafood, local cuisine, fresh, natural beverages hut, a couple of bars and the place turns into a real social experiment. Truly nice. Food and drinks are fairly priced, restrooms are clean, plenty of parking place, it's only 45 minutes away from San José. Tough competition for capital city overrated gastro takes. My only concern is I don't know what happens to customers if it starts raining. I didn't see any options since it's an open space setting. I ordered a Rice and Beans with chicken dish from "Leyka's" and its spices and sauce were phenomenal. I'm definitely going back. It beats San José's over priced offer.
